Corrections
Report a factual error
If PlotRecall gets something wrong, tell us. Corrections are handled separately from copyright complaints, and nothing you send is published.
Version 2026-08-11.1. This wording is a draft written to describe how PlotRecall actually works. It has not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer in any jurisdiction, and PlotRecall claims no statutory compliance on the strength of it.
What belongs here
Wrong cast or credit, a story detail that never happened, a relationship described incorrectly, a localisation or transliteration mistake, a broken or mismatched source, or a spoiler that appeared earlier than the point you selected.
If you are a rights holder asking us to remove material, use the copyright and takedown route instead. If your request is about data held about you, use the rights request route.
What to send, and what not to
Useful:
- a factual correction in your own words
- a short explanation of why it is wrong
- a link to a source we could check
Please do not send:
- scripts or screenplay pages
- subtitle files or subtitle text
- copyrighted images, posters or stills
- video or audio clips
- long quotations from a work or another site
- unlawful content
- defamatory allegations
- private or personal information about anyone
You keep whatever rights you have in what you send. You give PlotRecall only the permission it needs to receive your report, review it, and act on the factual correction it contains. No ownership transfers, and nothing you write is published on the site.
Spoiler reports
If something was revealed before the point you had selected, say so and nothing more. We record your selected position and the part of the page you were reading — you never need to retype the spoiler. Spoiler-leak reports are reviewed ahead of ordinary factual reports. The spoiler policy explains how stopping points work.
How a correction is handled
A submission creates a case, not an edit. Cases move through triage, source and evidence checks, review, and then either an accepted decision or a decline with a reason. A link you send is a candidate only. It carries no authority because it was submitted: it has to pass the same source governance as anything else, and it may be rejected.
We may reject a correction we cannot support with evidence, even when it is offered in good faith. Where a report is accepted it raises a task for an editor: the change is then written and verified through the normal editorial chain. There is no path from a public submission to a published change.
Correction request
Please include the page and enough detail for a reviewer to check the claim against a source.
